Born and raised in Atlanta Georgia, Joshua Heard has dedicated his life to service, justice, and community. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from Howard University, where he deepened his commitment to public service and leadership. Joshua went on to earn his law degree from Hofstra University, passing the New York Bar in 2020.

Joshua’s career has spanned both public and private sectors — from serving as a public defender to advocating for fairness and accountability in county government. His work has given him firsthand insight into the challenges families face and the importance of having leaders who listen, act, and fight for their communities.

Now, Joshua is bringing that experience home as a candidate for the Maryland House of Delegates, ready to champion opportunity, fairness, and a stronger future for every resident.
